College Mission Trip
A five day trip coordinated through an outside ministry for students that are at least in their freshman year of college. Locations vary from year to year. In past years, OMP has taken groups to Rio Bravo, Mexico, Joplin, MO, and to New Orleans, LA.
Participant Eligibility
Youth who have completed 8th -12th grades by summer are welcome to choose from nine senior high camps. There must be a ratio of at least one adult camper to every four youth.
Youth who have completed 6th-7th grades by summer are welcome to choose from three middle school camps. There must be a ratio of at least one adult camper to every four youth.
Adults must be at least 19 years old and considered a good role model by your church. Adults must be mature and responsible. Adults are expected to participate in all activities, including those at the job sites and the camp facilities.
Except in the case of emergencies, all adult campers and youth are expected to arrive at camp with their church groups on Sunday and remain at camp through the duration of the program on Thursday or Saturday morning.
Vehicles Needed
A ratio of one vehicle per adult driver and four youth is required to insure adequate transportation for the service team during the week. Your church is responsible for all vehicle expenses. Each vehicle should be large enough to carry five persons in seat belts plus ice chest, vehicle tools, and building supplies. Please realize these vehicles will need to carry lumber, paint, and other supplies to the jobsites. Seat covers are a good idea for vehicles.
Tools Needed
Each vehicle coming to camp must carry tools. The list is available in the Adult Camper Packet, as well as in the Church Training Manual. Tools that are broken at home will be broken at OMP. Be sure all tools are in working condition before packing. For example: make sure the blades are sharpened and your lawn mower runs properly.
What to Expect Upon Arrival at Camp
Groups are expected to arrive at camp Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm. If you are delayed, please call your director. The day will be filled with orientation, group building activities and creating service teams known as Family Groups.
