Dear Friend of Ozark Mission Project,
Ozark Mission Project began in 1986 with one camp of 35 participants. Like all healthy bodies, we have grown a lot.
-1 full time Executive Director
-12 camps are held each summer
-700 youth and adults participate in OMP each summer
-Over 100 volunteers staff the camps
-450 neighbors are served each summer
-36 minimum (closer to 50) volunteers staff the camps
-8 college-age young adults comprise the paid staff for camps
-23 people volunteer all year to “run” OMP
-Neighbors are from all over our state
--the delta of the Mississippi River
--the valley of the Arkansas River
--the hills of the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains
--the timberlands of the south
We have reached that point in our growth where it is time to make changes so that we may stay healthy and continue to grow. We have already received approval for a 501(c)(3) status, which means we are now recognized by the federal government as a nonprofit organization. We have restructured our governing body. We now have an Executive Board comprised of community leaders and OMP volunteers, and an Advisory Committee of OMP volunteers. We have achieved our goal of hiring an Executive Director. We are now branching out to new mission opportunities, while sustaining our Arkansas summer camps. OMP has partnered with Arkansas Wesley Foundations to take College Students on mission opportunities in Rio Bravo, Mexico since 2007. Only by God’s grace has Ozark Mission Project sustained the phenomenal growth with just volunteers.
I invite you to be a part of Ozark Mission Project. God has given us wonderful and exciting visions of the future of Ozark Mission Project, and I know you will want to be part of God’s plans.
We are always looking for new volunteers. If you would like to join our volunteer efforts at Ozark Mission Project, please click here to volunteer for our camps.
