Our history

OMP began with one camp and 35 participants. Today we host 13 camps each summer, serving all four corners of Arkansas.

In 1986, Ozark Mission Project began with one camp in Imboden, Arkansas and 35 participants. Today, OMP hosts 13 camps each summer, two OMP 101 camps, and a college-aged mission trip in January. Approximately 1,500 youth, young adults, and families annually participate in OMP, serving 24-30 counties and all four corners of Arkansas.

OMP was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1995 and was run solely by volunteers until 2004, when OMP hired its first executive director. In 2012, Bailey Faulkner became the Executive Director, and under her leadership OMP has continued to grow in mission and financial support. OMP was a finalist for the Nonprofit of the Year award by Arkansas Business and received the award for Outstanding Volunteer Organization by Arkansas Fundraising Professionals in 2019.
